Face/Off scene and a reflection on a Judd Apatow interview

BA Productions has completed a recreation of a scene from the great film ever, Face/Off. It stars Brian Siberine as Castor Troy (or John Travolta AS Nick Cage) and Lauren Charles as Jamie Archer (JT's daughter). I directed it and Brian's bro Steve worked as my DOP/AD. WATCH IT HERE:

Besides this awesome scene, we here at BA Productions would like to take a moment to reflect on something we found on the American Film Institute's site. Since we are directors (and strive for actual CAREERS as directors) we often surf over to AFI.com to see what today’s hottest directors have to say. Today, we stumbled across a short interview with Judd Apatow, director of such films as Knocked Up and Funny People and probably the biggest producer of Hollywood comedies at this moment. Brian and I were pleased to see a comedy director being so highly honored. Too often, we feel, creators of comedy films are overshadowed by the likes of inspirational, tear jerking melodramas. Here at BA Productions, we would like to "pull a Judd Apatow" one day by making a groundbreaking, 2 hour comedy film. According to his interview, Apatow said his favorite films were early 70s comedies like Harold and Maude. But we want to know what else tickles this mans fancy? What does he eat for breakfast? Where does his buy his fresh fruit? What can we do to channel this magnificent energy? Forgive us for the incredible butt kissing, but this is what we'd like to do. Personally, I don't think there’s anything wrong with wanting to pick the brain of the man who is getting paid millions to make great movies. Right?

Well, enough of my yacking. If you would like to see the AFI interview with Apatow, click the "American Film Institute" link to the left of the blog. It is currently on the homepage and will hopefully be there longer.
